Şişecam Resources is a chemical producer focused on soda ash and chromic acid. The company operates facilities in Türkiye, the U.S., Italy, Bulgaria, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, exporting products to over 100 countries. It is one of the world's largest soda producers, with significant natural soda ash operations in Green River, Wyoming. The parent company, Şişecam, was founded in Türkiye in 1935. Its U.S. soda ash operations trace back to 1962, when Stauffer Chemical opened the Big Island Mine and Refinery in Green River. This facility went through numerous ownership changes, including Rhone-Poulenc and OCI Chemical Corporation, before being acquired by Ciner Enterprises Inc. in 2015. Şişecam entered a partnership with Ciner Group in 2019 and took over the soda ash business entirely in 2021.
