Standard Bots makes industrial robots easy to implement for computer numerical control (CNC) machine shops of all sizes. Cofounders David Golden and Evan Beard both worked at robotic welding systems startup Arc Specialties, building custom automation for advanced manufacturers. Leveraging that experience, they launched Standard Bots and developed RO1 - a flexible robotic arm with an intuitive interface that lets operators automate repetitive milling, drilling, and cutting tasks on CNC mills in minutes with no coding required.
Going forward, David and Evan aim to expand RO1's capabilities and integrate it with packaging equipment, conveyors, and other machines to bring simple automation to more manufacturing processes.
Joining the team, you could help address key priorities like improving precision repeatability and expanding use cases beyond CNC mills currently. Help shape the future by applying easy-to-learn robotics that let small shops better leverage automation to increase productivity.
Risk-wise, Standard Bots is still new and focused solely on CNC mill tending, but the founders’ direct expertise in advanced manufacturing automation puts them in a strong position to adapt RO1 for other applications over time. Furthermore, Standard Bots faces multiple competitors in the pick-and-pack robotics industry (e.g, RightHand Robotics and Gecko Robotics). Many have raised multiple rounds of funding to fuel growth.
