Island is changing web browsing for the enterprise. The Dallas-based company, founded in 2020 by experienced cybersecurity leaders Mike Fey and Dan Amiga, has developed the Island Enterprise Browser - a Chromium-based browser that gives organizations complete control and security over the critical "last mile" between users and SaaS applications. With granular policy controls and advanced security features natively integrated, Island enables safe contractor and BYOD access, eliminates data leakage risk, and empowers fully governed privileged user accounts.
Island's founders served in executive roles at cybersecurity organizations such as McAfee, Symantec, Fireglass and Crowdstrike. Island has raised over $325M in funding from top investors including Insight Partners, Sequoia, and Stripes, and has quickly reached product-market fit.
Scaling globally is a key priority in Island’s future. The company plans to invest heavily in R&D to expand its product capabilities, double down on customer success, and expand geographically. While the enterprise browser space is still nascent, incumbent web browsers lacking enterprise features pose an adoption hurdle Island will need to overcome. Educating the market on the transformative potential of a purpose-built enterprise browser will be critical to drive category creation and cement Island's position as the market leader.
