Cockroach Labs develops CockroachDB, a cloud-native distributed SQL database that enables enterprises to build scalable, resilient applications. The company serves over 200 customers including Netflix, Comcast, Bose, and two of the top five global banks, with tens of thousands of clusters in deployment. Cockroach Labs was founded in 2015 by former Google infrastructure engineers Spencer Kimball, Peter Mattis, and Ben Darnell. Darnell worked on Google Reader and Colossus, a precursor to GFS.
