Charm Industrial aims to reverse climate change by permanently removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Founded in 2018 by former software CEO Peter Reinhardt and expert engineer co-founders Shaun and Kelly Kinetic, Charm has developed a process to convert agricultural waste into bio-oil for underground carbon storage.
To date, Charm has sequestered nearly 6,000 tons of CO2 into depleted oil wells, selling removal services to high-profile customers like Microsoft, Shopify, and Stripe. With over $100 million in funding from top climate investors, Charm plans rapid expansion through a continent-wide fleet of mobile pyrolyzers that can convert farm waste into carbon-negative oil.
As an employee, you would help construct scalable climate solutions alongside pedigreed leadership including Reinhardt, who previously led his startup Segment to a $3 billion exit.
However, risks remain around securing ample low-cost feedstock from farms, public doubts about permanence, unproven long-term storage safety, and difficulties expanding injection capacity. But with customer commitment from procurement leaders, Charm aims to combat emissions both immediately and through an ambitious long-term vision.
